William A. Wimberly, JR. (78 yrs.)
Jr. passed away on October 13, 2018. He was born August 12, 1940 to the late William Sr. and Beatrice Wimberly in Alliance, Jackson County Florida. He has been a resident of the Pensacola/Pace area for 55 years.
He was a Civil Service employee at Pensacola NAS and Cherry Point NC from which he retired after 22 years of service. He was a member of Wallace Baptist Church in Pace Fl. and was a member of the Mason’s for 42 yrs., is a Past Master at Brentwood Lodge in Pensacola and a member of Red Level Lodge in Blountstown Fl.
JR is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Virginia; daughters Ellen Colley; Marie Wimberly (grandson Ryan); Janice (Danny) Futral (grandchildren Wesley, Jessica, Preston); Son John (Susan) Wimberly (grandchildren Lauran, Ashley, Heather, Josh, Brittney, Mathew and Logan); (Diane’s girls) granddaughters Jennifer, Cathy, Michelle; Sisters Ann (Roy) Jackson; Joyce (Eddie) Larock, honorary brother Jimmy (Nell) Young and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Fay Wimberly, Evelyn Spivey, Brother J.Y. Wimberly, and daughter Diane Carter.
JR was always a farmer at heart, he loved nothing more than to piddle in the gardens he had in Alliance and Pace, FL. We will miss all the vegetables he grew and shared with us at the Wimberly gatherings.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Specialty Health and Rehab Center for their compassionate care of “Paw – Paw” Wimberly during his stay there. Words cannot express the gratitude we have for Dr. Lampone, the nurses and all the staff members for the care and kindness given to him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Wallace Baptist Church on Chumuckla Hwy. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens followed by graveside ceremony at PMG Cemetery.

    So glad you shared this Janice and so very sorry for your loss. My husband admired your dad and all his help and assistance when Lee was studying for his degree in Masonry.
