Alonzo “Lonnie” R. Allen of 85 of Pensacola, Florida passed away on December 19, 2018.
He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Albany and worked at Gary Screw and Bolt where he retired after 34 years as well as retiring from Bethlehem Steel after 12 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Corene Allen; siblings, JD Allen, Diowdell Allen, Owen Allen, General L. Allen, Ola Mae Bryant, Jaunita Rice, Minnie Ledbetter, Corene Huskey; and son, Bryan Brannon.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Allen; children, Lafonda (Randy) Morris of Merillville, IN, Kimberly Johnson of Pensacola, FL, Lisa Myers of Pensacola, FL, Erron Hegwood-Skauen of Connecticut, Devin Brannon of Hawaii; brother, Paul (Sonja) Allen of Warner Robbins, GA; grandchildren, Jay (Chris) Jones of Merillville, IN, Robin (Jackie) Johnson, Jr. of Pensacola, FL, Elizabeth (Tom) Campbell of Pensacola, FL, Brittany Lane of Pensacola, FL; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27, 2018 5PM until 7PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11AM.

    MY PRAYERS TO YOU SANDRA, AND THE FAMILY. I AM SO HAPPY THAT I GOT TO TALK TO LONNIE A FEW WEEKS AGO. LONNIE WAS A GREAT CO-WORKER, BUT A MUCH BETTER FRIEND AND HE WILL BE DEARLY MISSED. GOD BLESS YOU. KNOW THAT LONNIE IS AT PEACE. “GOD HAS GOT THIS”

It’s hard not to love the both of you as we got to know you guys more, even under the circumstances. Lonnie was always so positive, friendly, kind and was never in a bad mood or negative even for a second. Your boys will miss him dearly and know we are here for you Mrs. Allen.

    Good Bye for now my Awesome uncle. You were always my favorite. I still remember you stopping by the house in your sailor outfit, so handsome and always made me feel special. I am glad you are no longer in pain and look forward to spending eternity with you and my mom, Corene. I love you uncle Lonnie, you will be forever in my heart. Tootsie. Thank you also Sandy for being his earthly lover and care taker and angel on earth by his side. So grateful for you.
