Deirdre “Dee” Schultz Galloway • September 27, 2018

Dee was born in Bay Minette, Alabama and spent her childhood summers at their second home in Orange Beach, Alabama. She attended Baldwin County High School. She attended the University of Alabama where she received her degree in Health and Physical Education. She was employed by Verner Elementary as head Physical Education teacher for 23 years. Her love for teaching children shined through her work. She won numerous state and national awards recognized for her work. Later she moved to Pensacola, Florida and loved spending days at the beach. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She had a love for dogs and enjoyed football and watching her favorite Alabama Crimson Tide.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Galloway; mother, Addie Moore Schultz; brothers, Paul Schultz and Chris Schultz.
She is survived by her daughter, Myra Hicks of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Kimberly Hicks of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; sister, Stephanie White (Neil) of Mobile, Alabama; father, Paul Schultz (Kathy) of Clearwater, Florida; grandchildren, Christian Hicks and Tehya Hicks of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; sister-in-law, Tess Schultz (Chris-deceased)of Ridgecrest, California; loving companion, Anthony Michanowicz of Pensacola, Florida and his daughter, Brieanna Michanowicz of Elberta, Alabama as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 10am until 12pm.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, please donate to the American Heart Association or Pensacola Humane Society.

    I will always love and cherish the memories that we had at the beach and cooking together. You were such a sweet soul and loved everyone. You were also so very passionate about your Alabama football and loved my dad very much. I love you so much and I know that you are always going to watch over us from heaven.

    Fond memories of growing up with Dee! Once in the 6th grade I stayed with her & we danced around the living room to “rock & roll”, she always was smiling! I am praying for the Lord to comfort each of you during this time!

    Dee was such a beautiful person and I loved her so very much. She was a wonderful big sister to me even though we lived on opposite sides of the United States. I miss you sweet sister! I know that you are in a better place up there with Chris, Paul, and Mom. My comfort is knowingI will see you again someday. You are always in my heart.

    Dee, I loved hearing from you always! Enjoyed seeing you at Al Football Game Day in Tuscaloosa when we tailgated. You were such a sweet person! You will be dearly missed by all who knew you! Blessings to your dear daughters who are good friends!

    Dee was one of kind and a friend for life. I got to know her when she was teaching PE in Tuscaloosa and we both served on the ASAHPERD Board together. We looked forward to seeing her at board meetings and conferences. Such great memories and always so much fun. My heart is broken.
