Edna L. Garrrett • August 27, 2017
Edna L. Garrett, 92 of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully August 27, 2017 and earned her well-deserved Godly crown.
Edna was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, where she met and married her husband of 52 years, Martin W. “Red” Garrett. We are blessed that mom chose daddy and brought us into such a big, wonderful, loving, happy and fun family. In 1955, Daddy’s work brought them to Pensacola, which became their home. She was a fabulous and loving mother to their two daughters, Debbie Garrett (Johnnie Holland) of Navarre, Florida and Marianne Garrett of Pensacola, Florida. She was blessed with two loving granddaughters, Adriana Sims of Milton, Florida and Ashley Amore` of Tampa, Florida, as well as two very treasured, amazing and loving great grandchildren, Trinity M. Sims and Tyler T. Sims of Milton, Florida. Edna was preceded in death by her husband “Red” Garrett and her sister, Mary Frances Shirley. Edna was a loyal friend and great neighbor to many. She rarely met a stranger. Mom was very lucky to be blessed with such wonderful, loving friends and neighbors, who always looked out for her. There are too many to count who were delighted to be greeted by her beautiful smile, personality, great sense of humor and to be enriched by her golden heart and tender touch. Mom was always there to lend an ear or a hand when needed. She truly loved her friends and neighbors and they knew it and loved her right back. We are so very grateful to all of them. Mom was very lucky indeed and truly blessed, and we are blessed to belong to her.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
