Harry Irvin Ward, Sr. • October 26, 2018

Harry Irvin Ward, Sr., 90, of Pensacola passed away October 26, 2018. He was born January 11, 1928 in Independence. MO.
He worked for The Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years. Harry was a corporal in the Army and served 22 months in Post-war Germany during the Korean Conflict. He served as an Elder in Community of Christ and a former pastor in St. Petersburg & Oak Ridge, TN.As a youth he served as Zion’s League President for Independence, MO.
Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Delores Ray Ward; parents, Harry and Pearl Marie Inman Ward; sisters, Ruby Lee Shipley, Mary Leutzinger, Peggy Goldsmith, Helen Adkins; brothers Ransom Ward, David Ward, Newton Ward and Kenneth Ward.
Harry is survived by his children, Harry Ward, Jr. (Susan), Paula Bagley (Joe), Janet Worthington (Bruce), Ray Ward; siblings, Pearl Freeze (Ron), George Ward (Barbara), Ruth Ann Thomas (Orlen); granddaughter, Molly Bagley.
Private family graveside services will take place November 8, 2018 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America.

    It was a distinct pleasure in knowing Harry. He typified a father, a public servant and a dedicated worker in the church. He will be sorely missed. Farewell brother, Bill

  4. I first knew Harry when they lived in Mobile for a time. Harry is one of the most thoughtful and nicest men I have ever known. He served his Heavenly Father every day of his life as he diligently lived out the mission of Christ. My deepest regards go to his family as well as to the community he served.
