Irene Flynn Blackwell • December 16, 2018

Irene Flynn Reinschmidt Blackwell was born on November 26, 1939 and died on December 16, 2018. She is survived by her husband, James Blackwell; five children, Tina Reinschmidt, Tony Reinschmidt (Sherri), Timothy Reinschmidt (Jackie), Tonya Estes (Joe), James Blackwell III; two sisters, Marie Humphries and Dot Edwards (Gordon); seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. As a consummate professional, Irene earned Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees. She was employed by Pensacola Junior College for sixteen years, rising in rank from Instructor to Professor and retired in 2000. Irene also had several small business ventures under the tradename “Traditions”. Irene was a loving wife and mother. She was a vivacious and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and acquaintances. Visitation will be at Pensacola Memorial Gardens from 4-6 pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018. A funeral service and burial will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens at 10 am on Friday, December 21, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

    So many childhood memories!! The Reinschmidt’s were such a huge part of my life and Ms Irene was the Rock!! She will be missed greatly but she sure had a tremendous impact on my life!! My sincere condolences go out to Tina, Tony, Tim , and Tonya as well her pride and joy the grandchildren!!

    Irene and Jim were our next door neighbors for years and became “family” to us and our children. Irene was an awesome and loving lady and has a special place in our hearts.
