James Edward Wells, Sr., 88 of Pensacola, FL born in 1930 to Clifford E. and Eula Wells in Ensley, Alabama went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 27, 2018. During his lifetime he served his country in the US Navy with the pacific fleet in the Navy Air Force. He operated his own business from 1969 until he retired. He was an extra ordinary carpenter, electrician, welder and Papa. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since 1969.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William Edward Wells, and sister, Margaret Huey. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose Marie Wells; three children: James E. Wells, II, Angela M. Wells, and Pamela R. Moye; seven grandchildren: James E. Wells, III, April L. Swift, Crystal H. Wells, Nicole Hual, Reid Tilley, Sara Henderson, and RJ Moye; and fifteen great-grandchildren: Morgan Murphy, II, Aaron Swift, Bentley Swift, Corben Wells, Scarlett Wells, Gage Wells, Robert Wells, Ethan Marsh-Hual, Addison Marsh-Hual, Harper Hual, Cora Jane Hual, Aubrey Henderson, Bryce Henderson, Carson Moye, and Bryndle Moye.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Covenant Hospice.
Active pallbearers will be Jay Wells, RJ Moye, Steven Swift, Bill Henderson, Reid Tilley, and Michael Hual. Honorary pallbearers are Joel Davis, Bill Wade, Johnny Lovelace, and Floyd Westmoreland.
Visitation will be Monday, December 31, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on 7433 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola, Florida. Burial will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

    We were so saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Wells. May the Lord Provide Your Family all the Comfort needed as We know He is home with the Lord.
