John “Jack” Patrick Murphy, III • September 20, 2017



John “Jack” Patrick Murphy III of Pensacola, FL …previously of Castle Shannon, PA and the many places
military life led him…passed peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by family.
Jack Murphy, a beloved father, grandfather and husband was born to the late Ruth (Paul) Fisch.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lockart Murphy.
His memory is left to be cherished by his children, Jamie Murphy, Tonia (Jason) Beverly, John (Sara)
Murphy, Peggy Murphy; 4 grandchildren, Cody, Katie, Jack and Nelson; his siblings—David Fisch,
Paulette (Ed) Ammon, Karl (Wendy) Fisch; close extended family and friends also grieve this great loss.
Jack Murphy met and married Frances Lockart Murphy while stationed in Key West, Florida. He served
in the US Navy for 20 years, retired then moved full time to Pensacola with his family. He worked at
Armstrong World Industries alongside his brother in laws. He faithfully served his family and this
community. It is his role as father, grandfather, husband and family storyteller for which he will be
remembered.
Jack Murphy also provided others with wisdom, guidance and sage advice. He was a one of a kind
character who will be deeply missed. It is this loving legacy that he leaves and for which he will be
remembered…

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Special Olympics Florida-Escambia
County
