John James Colligan, Jr. • May 26, 2019



John Colligan peacefully passed away in his sleep Sunday morning and is now in the hands of the Lord. He was 90 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Alyce G Colligan, their combined children John C (Butch) Colligan, Laura Colligan (husband Henry) Ard, JoAnn Colligan, Deneice, Sharon, Valrie (husband Harold), Janice and David (wife Trish), 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, his brother Richard (wife Shirley, and two sisters Marilyn (husband Lee) and Ruth Ann (husband Tootie) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents John J Colligan, Sr and Anna Elizabeth Kniffin, three brothers and one grandchild. John was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He loved dogs, especially German Shepards, and horses.

There will be a family memorial at a future date still to be determined. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, The Dementia/Alzheimer’s Society, your local Humane Society and/or your local Equine Rescue Society.

The family also wishes to thank all the loving staff of Homestead Village Assisted Living Facility for the devotion and care they gave John during his last month on this earth. They were nothing short of amazing. Covenant Care worked hand in hand with them and we also extend our sincere gratitude to them.
