Sandra, age 57, of Pensacola, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at her home, after a courageous battle with lung disease.
Her family will miss her generosity, unconditional love, and devotion. Those closest to her will have fond memories of her “home-made” words, contagious laughter, and drawer full of candy bars. Sandy was a diamond in the rough; a true one of a kind.
Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Tina.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Knapp; her daughters, Tonya (Lonnie) Stephens, Tracy Scott and Tammy Robarts; granddaughters, Sarah Stephens, Madison and Cameron Scott; mother, Eleanor Vinson; mother-in-law, Sharon Knapp; siblings, Debbie (Bob) Gonzalez, Aubrey Vinson, Jr., Jimmy (Kelly) Vinson, Mike (Debbie) Vinson, Linda (Johnny) Adams, Rick (Lynn) Vinson, Ronnie (Dana) Vinson, and Elaine Norris; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; uncle and aunt, Vernon and Betty Vinson; special family friends, Francine Sullivan and Rhonda Bryars.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 7433 Pine Forest Road, with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 18, 2009 from 6 – 8 P.M. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Aubrey Vinson, Jimmy Vinson, Mike Vinson, Rick Vinson, Ronnie Vinson, and Bob Gonzalez.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Dr. Messina’s office and the caregivers at Covenant Hospice.
Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home is in charge.
